A composition - As time flies by

This piece was written on a day when I was feeling especially nostalgic . Most parts of this composition feature only three instruments - the piano, strings, and the bass guitar. I messed up the relative volume levels of the three with the strings being a little too loud in parts.

One interesting feature in any synthesizer/piano is something they call touch sensitivity. Essentially, the harder you strike a key, the louder it sounds. So when you are playing multiple keys at a time, its important to keep track of the pressure each of your fingers exerts on the keys, lest a left hand pattern that is meant to accompany, mask out the main melody. This is quite difficult to do (or at least I found it so then:-).  I was just learning to do this when this was recorded. Fine pressure control is essential to achieving expression in any song. There are some more aspects; maybe I'll put it down in another post.

Beautiful Karthik. I think a dance routine can be choreographed for the first 2 mins and about 15 seconds of this composition. It makes me want to dance. :)

Rafiki - Thanks :-) A dance routine wouldn't have struck me, as the mood is pensive. I guess a slow, gentle routine can be choreographed! You would know better:-)
