Me ain't no Judge

For a long time, I thought I was good at judging people on our first meeting. I thought I could soon tell what kind of person he/she is . I thought i could judge a person's personality(to be specific, not character) - how they'd react to a situation, what kind of things would interest them, would they be introverts/extroverts ....

At one point, I thought i should objectively judge, whether I am actually right on my first impressions. I tend to like most people i meet . Call me naive if you wish. but i'm one of those who believe that peope are basically good. This belief of mine helped in the sense that I was likely to meet many of the people again and again(as opposed to fighting with them and parting ways in between:).

So whenever I met someone for the first time, I'd make a note of my first impressions about the person. Once i'd gotten to know him/her quite well, i'd reexamine my notes . And I was in for a huge surprise- I was wrong on most counts! The only thing I got right was the one I didn't judge - that people are basically good!

The learning for me? - Don't go by first impressions !
