While exploring the market place, I find this cozy ice cream shop with a seating arrangement. I start out with a 'Good Morning' in Japanese, order a nice looking ice cream, find myself a seat in that elegant setting, and enjoy my ice-cream with a novel in hand.
Once I finish my ice-cream, I am overcome with an urge to test out my newly acquired Japanese phrases. So, just before leaving I go over to the counter, and try to say 'This place is nice' in Japanese.. Except that I got a little confused and ended up saying the Japanese equivalent of 'Keep in touch' instead ! :P
Going by the expression on the face of the guy at the counter, I couldn't say if his expression confused me more, or if what I'd just said had confused him more ..I realized this only after I got back to the Hotel room, and set out to pick up a few more phrases...:-)
