Random Thoughts
1) With apparently some posts gone missing for a while, it just struck me that I don't have a copy of any of these posts ! High time I start maintaining a backup !
2) I've done a quick recording of a composition of mine, "The soaring spirit ". I had put up its opening notes as a piece called 'Prelude' here. But I want to include drums in the full-fledged recording of this one , and will have to slog through the synth manual to figure it out ! Reading the manual to understand the synth's features is much like reading a dictionary to learn new words - utterly uninspiring !
3) This reminds me ! 'Melodica', that fine instrument procured from the streets of Pondy bazaar is doing well. I hadn't carefully noticed earlier, but it has a small picture of a Panda's face etched on some of the keys ! Indeed, it is goofy in the Kungfu Panda-esque sense, and I used it to good effect to wake up my sis from her afternoon nap on one of her visits home -) I think it qualifies as a good reverse-lullaby instrument - produces a gentle soothing sound to wake up to !
4) The IISc campus is really beautiful just after it rains ! Very pleasant to walk around the campus and reflect in peace. Vehicles don't honk, the dogs don't chase you, and unless it happens to be Holi ( in which case you'll be painted in all possible shades much against your wishes if you happen to venture out), you'll usually come back safely :-)

Silly blogger and its issues! One way to ensure a back-up is to subscribe to your own blog through google reader or other rss feeds. The experiment on the synth sounds exciting to me, although laboring through the manual is surely tiring! :). Look forward to hearing the song! You should also put up a recording of you playing the Melodica :). I find the alarm ring-tones on the newer models of cell-phones quite soothing too, yet jarring as they shake you out of slumber! I love rain drenched lawns too - the color green comes alive and vibrant :). You must post some pictures!
Neeraja - Thanks ! I didn't think of that. Does google reader maintain a copy of everything you've used it for ? Ha ha melodica is really an instrument to goof around with, and not really to record stuff !:-) Alarm ringtones are kind of jerky so they tend to startle one out of sleep :-) Oh yes, I will post some pictures sometime ; got a camera recently so would be nice to experiment with :-)
Yeah Google reader maintains all the read content of the feeds you subscribe to (at least as far as I am aware!).
Well, you never know, what you think is goofy may be novel and interesting to other ears :)
Neeraja,
Ok thanks :-) I will try out your suggesion! Haha that's true, I'll try it sometime:-)
We want pictures of rain soaked Bangalore. The best way to spend a rainy evenings in Bangalore is to sit either in a balcony or near an open window with a book in hand, steaming coffee and hot alu bonda. :) Simple and satisfying. It is very relaxing to see rainfall or even rain drops waiting to fall from a window's cross bar. Oh no now I am missing home. +_+
Rafiki - Yes, watching rains from a balcony is very good ! I will put up some pictures once I click some !
