Three Random things that annoy me!

1) Hot curd rice  - I am not picky about food, and will quite happily eat anything vegetarian, but hot curd rice is not one of them. If the rice happens to be hot, I will invest much time and energy employing novel, hitherto unpublished techniques to cool it , before adding curd .

2) Having someone stare at my comp screen as I check mail - Its even more annoying when someone comes up right behind you, reads your mail, and goes a step further to comment on its contents! I once sensed someone behind me reading my mail, and I promptly opened a text editor, and typed out "Don't stare at my screen!". The embarrassed guy instantly exclaimed "I wasn't staring at your screen", and soon realized  he was contradicting himself by responding to the screen's contents ! Its usually harmless when people do this, but annoying nevertheless. A related thing would be eavesdropping, which I have discussed at length elsewhere. But I would much rather have people eavesdropping than staring at my screen:-)

3) Lack of punctuality - I respect others' time, and I expect others to respect mine. If I tell someone that I will meet them at a certain place at five, I will be there at five. If, for any reason I am late, I will call and inform them in advance. I expect others to do this too. So, if you strut in half an hour late, and say 'Dude, What's up?', I will karate chop you! More seriously, if someone is constantly late, I will stop attaching any importance to the promises they make in other contexts too .
