Three changes I'd like to make
Firstly, wish you all a very happy Diwali ! :-) I think few things can match the sense of infectious goodwill that prevails at this time ! Here are three changes I'd like to make in myself -
1) Eliminate procrastination - The toughest of the lot ! I'm definitely better at this now than before, but can improve quite a bit still . I still don't keep all promises I make to myself.
2) Wake up earlier in the day, and jog - I'm not really a morning person. but to be fair, I haven't tried waking up early regularly enough to give it a shot ! But I've noticed that whenever I start work earlier in the day, I alway feel like I've got a whole lot done by lunchtime, so there must be something to it :-)
3) Social service - I've done this in small bits - like taking a couple of classes for under-priveleged children, which I enjoyed very much, blood donation etc.... but now I feel like I want to do more, and in a systematic way. The last few months have led me believe that the time to start giving back is not after retirement, but anytime right now ! Could be just a couple of hours a week even, but I think it could be a life- changing experience, and a reminder to count our blessings.
