But have been thinking - "Life is about as simple as we think it is" and "Life is about as beautiful as we think it is" We can even generalize and say... "x is about as y as we think it is", and thats the power of the mind! Not exactly the point of your post but just led me to think of these things :)

Yep, sounds similar but very aptly put. Men are too ambitious to think simple ;-)
This thought is itself only as simple as we think it is :D

Your comment is about as simple as it isn't !:-) But true, we could gneralize, and say that about x and y !
