Random observations on the IISc way of life

1) At times, the IISc Tea board provides a drink that can pass off as either tea or coffee depending on what you want it to be. Its almost exactly midway. They are unwilling to disclose the recipe( But through clever means, I have found the primary ingredients to include half cups each of tea and coffee)

2)There's a plastic thing above your head when you sit at a table in teaboard. If that was put there to shelter you from rain, it does not achieve that purpose. It is merely a 'converter'. It converts a heavy downpour into a rain, and a rain into a drizzle.

3) The Gymkhana rest room should more appropriately be called 'rust room' . It houses a variety of flora and fauna. A complete ecosystem of sorts. If you can't make it to the Galpagos, check out this place .

4)The SAC keyboard, when sick, is the spookiest device known to me. Strike a key, and a termite/ant will emerge from it, in addition to sound. Thankfully it can't accommodate larger creatures.

5) After dark, switch on the light in your room(the new hostel ones) with the balcony door left open, only after making sure there are no bee-hives nearby. If you fail to observe this precaution, the bees will be overcome with a powerful urge to migrate to your room. They usually overstay the (unintended) welcome.

6) The IISc dogs - Among the most civilized inhabitants of the campus. I adore them for not chasing me as a I cycled back to my room at 1 AM. Some friends tell me they are also very puctual . Always there in class on time, even if there's a change in venue . And take the same course year after year with no loss of enthu !

Pritesh,
When you say 'haha', you've typically laughed for abt 5 min. So I guess you did a night-out to laugh:)

Laasya,
thanks. 'clever means' can't be revealed. Trade secret. You first need to give a test - 'Are you detective material?', and if you pass that we'll see !
