Thoughts on my sister's Marriage

My sister's marriage was on 7th of this month. It went on really well! I am very close to my sister, and am extremely happy for her. I was really happy that some of my IISc friends, and colleagues at work came for the reception. I was running around like crazy those 3 days. That coupled with insufficient sleep produced some rather embarasing side-effects :) Lack of sleep is supposed to cause some amount of memory loss, or long recall- times.

This was most prominent at the time of reception. There were a few people who I was meeting after several years. Yet, on any day (except that one:) I would have recognised them promtly. And still, there I was, scratching my head (figuratively of course), trying to place the person, while I carried on some general conversation. Is this the guy who I used to play with 10yrs ago in my colony, or it it the one i knew when I was in Pune ? or was it in H'bad? Such were the questions I was asking myself, and seeking answers to. And I desperately wanted the answers quickly. Never before had I been under this kind of pressure to recall stuff, including the times when I couldn't quite remember the answers to 6 mark questions at school :) The saving grace was that I finally did recognise, and identify pretty much everyone, much to my relief:)
My sincere advice to all - Before going to any marriage, study the photographs of all relatives, friends etc, and learn to identity them by their names :)

All in all, the whole event was lovely !
