Mooooooo.......eow

My latest excavations unearthed a limerick i'd written many years ago. As far as i can recall this is the only limerick i've written so far. maha silly :)

"I'm a nice friendly cat", thought a cow
It came to that conclusion, don't ask me how
It chased a mouse
all over the house
couldn't catch it though, and said "Meow "!

this limerick was bovine
brought a smile on this face of mine
great! said my pet cat
for this you deserve a pat
And that is the bottom line

:)

dig out more from ur magic box!

Hey Swat,

I would love to see you smile
to see that,i'd travel a mile
i'd climb many hills
though the back pain kills
and photograph your smile in style

Anonymous said...

dont get killed by the pain
then your journey would be in vain
To climb many hills
while the back pain kills
would just have to be very insane

Limericks limericks theyre so much fun
gets you to write two in place of one

:)

Karthik said...

This limerick conversation is getting more and more interesting :)

Yes you're right as you most often are
climbing wth backpain wont take me far
falling a lot
would ruin the plot
i'll stop climbing hills and reach for a star

Anonymous said...

dunno if i am wrong or right
but cant compete with your pen's might
climb with care
there'd be wear and tear
the journey would take more than a night

Limericks zindabad! :D

Limericks that became so hard to tame!
Two of you with the same name!
Love the spirit,
This work of merit,
And its way too much fun, for a dame!

Karthik said...

Anonymous,
haha nice one :-)
This work of merit it seems - lol !!:-)

It is truly fun to talk in verse
of doing which, ambitions I nurse
But time to stop
to skip and hop
Before this rhyme gets any worse:-)

Anonymous said...

Continuing this as Anonymous;)

Oh, isn't 'worse' worse than 'bad'
This is not even bad, not a tad!
Losses are none
Limericks are fun
Lets see how long it can be had!

karthik - the other one said...

This could go on and on
limericks will always be born
There's always more time
to gather three lines that rhyme
after dusk, before dusk, even before dawn

Karthik said...

Anonymous, thanks for continuing ;-) Looks like my namesake buddy has also rejoined the party after a brief break of 5 years :-) A quick dedication for the two of you ;-)

Limericks are fun; thats true and fair
But friends like you are even more rare
The lines are quite short
and of the funny sort,
And come from you folks who write with flair !

karthik - the other one said...

You dedicate a limerick to me
How humble could you be!
to be your friend
is really godsend
you really should charge a fee!

the rhyme will always rule
i am but the lazy mule
i bring the words
from the world of nerds
I wish i never run out of fuel

Anonymous said...

This pleasant surprise gave me a daze!
You two guys never stop to amaze!
A beautiful show.
Please accept my bow.
Scholarly yet humble men are rare, nowadays!

Karthik said...

Both of you are way too kind
limericks this funny i seldom find
Hats off to the two
And salutes to you
for bringing sunshine into the daily grind !

Karthik ..the other one said...

5 years've flown since this post
The rhyme stays alive like a ghost
It can never die down
gets rid of the frown
bas aise hi likthe raho mere dost! ;)

With every limerick the fun grows
Rhyming every sound that a man knows
2 lines into the start
the rhyme stands apart
then back to the original rhyme it goes

Anonymous said...

Karthik number 2 is full of enthu,
For everything we write, he returns two!
Very nice, I say,
The limerick way!
Let the great rhyming game continue!

Karthik said...

Bravo my friends for the witty rhyme!
As writers you seem to be in ur prime
Your wit and zeal
& the warm feel
means stopping this would be a crime!

Anonymous said...

Have you ever been in a 'relay'?
Passing the torch, with passion they play!
This is much the same
I'm loving the game
Into the territory of rhyme, we foray!

Karthik said...

Oh yes relay is what this is like !
Wonder how the notion to you did strike
rhymes that are fun
imagination on a run
Doesn't this really beat a salary hike ?!

Karthik said...

And, wanted to add - wonderful limericks by both of you !!:-)

Karthik..the other one said...

A salary hike may be worth a dime
Definitely useful at any time
but limericks are fun
they never get done
We all own a factory of rhyme

Not hard at all to come up with these
When you, the master has provided the keys
You write very well
Inspiration does swell
And the rhyming never does cease.

Anonymous said...

Material comforts have never been mine,
Joys of the heart forever do shine!
Creative celebration,
Passion and dedication,
Sweetest are their fruits for us to dine!

Awesome limericks, both of you!
Do you think we'll ever bid adieu?
Truly wonderful,
Lovely and insightful!
This is a beautiful experience - thank you!

Karthik said...

Conversing in rhymes is indeed truly great
Was this by chance or was it our fate?
I am not so sure
but the rhyme does lure
us into writing more of these at any rate!

Anonymous said...

Its weird to think its all written in our fate
And God decides much ahead what we do which date
It makes me wonder
Think and ponder
Questions which have no answer I do not hate.

Anonymous said...

The rhyme lures us to write every day
To "Random Thoughts" each morning I find my way
I receive my gift
Then to work I drift
Where endless routine greets me, with no delay.

Karthik said...

Thanks for writing each morning a verse
That is neither too long nor too terse
The rhymes make me smile
being written with wit n style
before to work we all disperse !

karthik...the other one said...

Time at Work seems such a bore
writing limericks is a more fun chore
amidst the office grind
verse alone in the mind
I suddenly dont mind the dreary gore

Karthik..the other one said...

Ah brilliant art thee, Anonymous
You come up with lines without a fuss
We all are bound
to the rhyming sound
Keep going and dont get off the bus

Anonymous said...

About work, I couldn't agree more
Sometimes it makes my brain feel sore
At such a time
Like magical thyme
Poetry heals me and makes my mind soar!

In your second verse, you're so kind
This special journey, I can't leave behind
We're on a bus?
Cheers to us!!
A poetic trio is in fact a rare find!

Anonymous said...

And Karthik Ramkumar, this is in response to yours - Thanks for starting this chain :)

Don't say thanks, you are the owner
Once upon a time I was a loner
You've added color
And real splendor
To an otherwise mundane life that's very sober.

Karthik said...

The bus takes us to a magical land
far from boredom and all that is bland
Wow ! what a ride
with friends on my side
to spend time that slips away like the sand !

Hey Anonymous, I'm glad to see you smile
Keep the smile on for a very long while!
share some light jokes
with some funny blokes
Even if workload increases to one large pile !

Anonymous said...

Nice couplet there you've got
Been thinking of responding but could not
Having outdoor fun
And a healthy run
We waited so much for summer to get hot!

Anonymous said...

What to talk we don't always know
We can still make up some silly show
The rhyme never dies
The 5 line mold lies
In tact to make limericks with play-dough!

Karthik said...

Making up a silly show is the real thing
For huge is the amount of joy it can bring
Five lines of fun
with an occasional pun
always makes my heart dance and sing!

Anonymous said...

May our hearts sing and dance
Renew the sparks, when there's a chance
Young we stay
Cheerful and gay
Not everyone is so, but thats my stance

Karthik......the other one said...

its been a torrid time at work
the boss just has a disdainful smirk
What joy then, oh my!
to see the rhyme here didnt die
my duty to rhyme i will never shirk

Anonymous said...

To find you back is a nice surprise
Experiences as this make you more wise
A high or a low
Just go with the flow
Take it easy... good things will arise!

Karthik said...

Staying young at heart as we get old
brightens up our lives in ways untold
a laugh now and then
and a limerick to pen
Boy this is cool, and now I'm sold !

Anonymous said...

Wow, this thread has reached 40
Come on, lets give ourselves a party!
Undying passion
and mutual appreciation
Can only build something this creative and hearty!

Anonymous said...

K & K, where are you both?
Aren't usual routines things you loathe?
Its been so long
Come, lets sing a song
Exchanging limericks back and forth!

Karthik...the other one said...

To step away from routine, a perfect time
your wake up call was brilliantly sublime
Here's my comeback song
Urge to rhyme still very strong
Lets head back to the limerick clime

Karthik said...

Hey guys,
I'll join back in a while ! You folks carry on by all means :-)

Anonymous said...

There exists a silent motionless room
But so much life inside, and no gloom
Just get in, whenever
You can be sure, forever
That voices will greet you back like full bloom :-)

Dont get it? - Enter Random Thoughts to research
Type "Limerick" and then you should hit search
Thats what I mean
Our rhyme can be seen
And it'll never leave you in the lurch!

Anonymous said...

The breeze today is nice and chill,
Called me here now, to continue at will.
How've you been?
You're not to be seen!
But the rhyme waits to be stretched and strung, still!

Anonymous said...

Once in while I come here to look...
I'm busy too and long been dying to read a book
But in limericks, there is some mirth
The short and sweet five lines is truly worth
Getting 2 mins of time, by hook or crook!

Karthik said...

Limericks truly are a source of joy
A fact once recognized in the land of troy
They make us laugh
laugh our heads off
I sure am enjoying this like a lil boy!

karthik...the other one said...

limericking is still on i see
im as thrilled as i can be
Work kept me away
aint enough hours in a day
But for this id even pay a fee

karthik...the other one said...

This sure is a joyous deed
For this plants a creative seed
5 lines of rhyme a day
keeps drudgery away
This page always makes a joyous read
